Cry to God
Spread the love

Waiting for Divine Redemption

Psalm 130:1-4

A Song of Ascents.

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord.
    Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplications!

If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,
    Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with you,
so that you may be revered.

Reflect and Pray:

This psalm is known as a psalm of ascent, a psalm sung by pilgrims on the way to the Temple in Jerusalem.  Along the way, they sing of their pain and they sing words of praise.  Today’s words remind us whom to seek in difficult times.

God knows your pain and what you have been through.  Too often, we believe we can resolve all of our problems on our own. We get it wrong when we don’t talk about things with God for God already knows.  Let us be free to cry out from the depths of our souls and acknowledge our flaws and need for forgiveness.  Today, remember that you can cry out to God any time, in any place, in any situation and the love of God will always be there for you.
