Read: Mark 1:35-39
In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed. – Mark 1:35
Reflect and Pray:
Jesus needed frequent retreat and solitude to do his work. Yet, we somehow think we can do without what he deemed essential. Jesus needed time alone with God. If God-of-very-God needed time for prayer and fellowship with his Father, how much more do we finite believers desperately need time in prayer. Prayer is more than an activity where we ask God to do things for us and others. It is also about communing with God. Taking time to be alone with God and experience his presence and love.
Today, make a conscientious effort to spend a few minutes alone with God.
